17th Customs Forum, 2026

Representatives from PNG Customs and the Australian Border Force met in Port Moresby this week for the 17th PNG-Australia Customs Forum to talk about key priorities and the management of combined border security activities along the PNG-Australian sea border.

The bi-annual forum, a precursor to the Customs Bilateral Meeting, serves as a key platform for both agencies to strengthen cooperation, advance joint operational priorities, and engage in regular consultations on matters relating to Customs administration, trade facilitation and border security.

The PNG Delegation was led by Commissioner for Border Security and Regional Operations Benjamin Sine while the Australian delegation was headed by ABF Commander International Clair Rees.
