NOTICE TO ALL IMPORTERS, EXPORTERS, CUSTOMS BROKERS & BUSINESS HOUSES
During the Christmas and New Year festive period, a time when exchanges of goodwill and thanksgiving are made through gifts, PNG Customs Service is also aware of solicitation of contributions or donations from, and giving gifts of cash or kind to Customs Port Offices and Customs Officers around the country for Christmas parties.
PNG Customs Service therefore advises that this practice is against the Customs Code of Conduct and Ethics, and takes a serious position against any conduct that breaches rules and regulations Customs is obliged to enforce.
This notice serves to advice all importers, exporters, Customs Brokers and business houses that no contributions, donations, gifts or tokens of appreciation of any kind should be offered to Customs Officers. Any Officer soliciting such things must be immediately reported to the PNG Customs Management. Reports relating to the mentioned practice should be made im-mediately to 3226898, 3226907, 3226793, 73141575 and 72127307.
