Ray Paul hands the baton over to David Towe

Prime Minister James Marape commended outgoing Customs Chief Commissioner Ray Paul for putting the organisation and country first by stepping aside to allow for another person to become the Chief Commissioner of Customs.

In a handover/takeover ceremony held on October 29, 2020 at the APEC house in Port Moresby the Prime Minister said the outgoing Chief Commissioner would have been reappointed had he applied after his second term ended but he decided selflessly and gracefully to step aside to allow for another person to be given the opportunity to head the organisation.

Hence, David Towe, a former Customs Deputy Commissioner, was appointed Chief Commissioner.
